My progress starting point
Alright this post is going to be the starting point for those of you that are following the progress I make on my start to financial freedom. I am going to use the numbers starting from September and go from there. I will list my debt total, approximate income (don’t want you know exactly what I make), monthly required expenses, and a few other things. This will be a work in progress as I try to figure out what to include in these posts.
I’m not sure how often I will post a progress update. It maybe bi-weekly, or monthly not sure yet. I will make update posts whenever I pay something off, or some other type of event. So here is that starting update with my numbers using statements from September.
- Credit Cards – $9,261.78
- Car Loan – $15,395.93
- My Student Loans – $16,916
- Parents Student Loans – $8,827.65
- Owed to Parents for school – $4,000
- Total Debt – $54,401.36
As you can see, a total of $54,401.36 in debt. I really did not realize that was my total debt until very recently. Considering I just started my first full time job in July 2012. I find that number daunting. I also know that someday in the future that number will be $0. I will reach that number by cutting back on non-needed expenditures and applying them to debt payments. Once that number reaches 0 I plan on staying at 0, unless it is for a mortgage at some point and I will talk more on house loans at another point.
I know that I just need to keep with it and stay with my goals. This is my story of my start to financial freedom.
